explorations of oregon

last night troy, poot, and i hopped in the car and headed to corvallis for an impromtu visit with my uncle jason and his partner paul while they were in town for paul's brother's wedding. it was our first time in corvallis, and i dare say i've fallen in love with that town. i've always preferred a big city to a small town, but corvallis seemed to have all that is great about oregon... and a little extra something. the beautiful green hills were reminisent of switzerland and i couldn't quite seem to take in enough of the, for lack of a better word, quaintness of it all. someone please move there so i can visit often.
besides the great surroundings, it was lovely to spend time with jason and paul. although i've yet to compile anything official, i'm fairly certain they'd achieve a high ranking on my list of favorite couples. also: i learned something new about jason. among all his other accomplishments, he's a book editor. besides adding to the awesomeness that is jason, this discovery leads me to wonder just how many other fascinating things there are about my relatives in which i am completely clueless to. this is also further proof to my theory that the hardwork gene that runs so strongly within my family must have skipped out on me somehow. anyhow, the mini-trip has been declared a success and i look forward to seeing the vegas branch of my firth family in the near future.

meet joey. paul's adorable minnesotan nephew, who upon seeing this...

declared, "wow! they're playing leap frog!" hearing that and his "oh geeze" thick with his minnesota accent were possibly the highlight of the visit.
